The planters and “zebradillos” located on Maricopa Highway as part of the Active Transportation Demonstration Project will be removed and replaced with flexible white reflector posts beginning December 6 to better define the bike lanes. The removal of the planters and “zebradillos” reflect modifications to the project based on lessons learned from the demonstration project. Work at the site will be limited to off-peak hours to mitigate traffic impacts. City crews will also perform clean-up and maintenance work in the sidewalks and median of the area.
The Demonstration project has been extended to ensure overlap with Nordhoff High School being back in full in-person attendance to experience the full AM and PM traffic peak in the area.
