[Español abajo] The Ventura County Health Care Agency is offering free COVID-19 testingvailable Today (Wednesday, June 9, 2021) from 9:00 am. to 3:00 p.m. at Sarzotti Park, 510 Park Rd. Ojai CA. 93023. Testing is available to members of the public, including to those who have the slightest suspicion of having COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with it. Appointments are not required and you don’t need to have health insurance.

Ojai Appoints Interim Public Works Director

6/4/2021 – The City of Ojai has announced the appointment of Alma Quezada as the Interim Public Works Director. She comes from her previous position as General Manager of Zone Mutual Water Company and La Loma Ranch Mutual Water Company. She previously worked at the County as a groundwater hydrologist. Prior to that she worked in private consulting as a field geologist, as well as other jobs.  Alma has a master’s degree in Civil Engineering and is a registered Geologist in California.

Notice of Southern California Edison Rate Case Public Hearing

On October 23, 2020, Southern California Edison (SCE) filed its General Rate Case (GRC) Phase 2 Application (A.20-10-012). In Phase 2, SCE proposes to design rates by incorporating rate changes from other SCE proceedings including SCE’s Phase 1 GRC and would be phased in over four years. Rates are designed by dividing approved electric costs among each customer class (residential, commercial, etc.). This results in rates increasing for some customer classes and decreasing for other customer classes;

City of Ojai Announces Parade Chair Rules in Advance of July 4th Independence Day Events

(OJAI, Calif.) – Setting up chairs along the Independence Day parade route has a long history in Ojai. While the City awaits the State’s determination of whether Independence Day parades will be allowed to occur this year, the City has implemented the following precautions to help protect public health this year:

  • No chairs allowed on Ojai Avenue before Monday June 28, 2021 at 8 a.m.
  • No more than 10 chairs in a group and please leave space between groups of chairs.

OJAI COVID-19 UPDATE – VENTURA COUNTY IN THE YELLOW TIER

The County of Ventura entered the least restrictive Yellow Tier in the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy at 12:01 am on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 after meeting the required metrics for the required two-week period. Today, the State has reported that Ventura County’s adjusted case rate remained in the yellow tier by further improving from 1.5 new cases per 100,000 people to 1.2 new cases per 100,000. The overall test positivity rate remained at .7% and in health equity areas the test positivity rate dropped from 1.4% to 1.1%.
