The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services has created an interactive map containing detailed information on evacuation orders that were issued during the Thomas Fire. Information meetings added for CalRecycle debris removal services, January 22 deadline for Right-of-Entry forms

 


VENTURA, Calif. – Additional informational meetings have been set for residents affected by the Thomas Fire who are seeking debris removal services from CalRecycle for severely damaged/ or destroyed property. Fire victims are invited to attend whichever meeting is the most convenient as the information presented will be identical at each meeting.

Thomas Fire Service Centers

Thomas Fire Service Centers (American Red Cross) will be open at Ojai Public Library (111 East Ojai Avenue, Ojai CA 93023), Saturday and Sunday, January 6-7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Red Cross caseworkers will be on hand to help with recovery plans, and in some cases, provide financial assistance for those who quality.

Resource Available: Sustainable and Fire-Safe Landscapes

SAFE (Sustainable And Fire SafE) Landscapes provides guidelines for creating and maintaining fire-safe, environmentally friendly landscapes in the wildland-urban interface. The project is a collaboration between University of California Cooperative Extension – Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers Watershed Council, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the Ventura County Fire Department, the National Park Service, and numerous governmental, non-profit, and business organizations (listed on the inside back cover).

2017 Road Rehabilitation Paving Schedule

The preliminary work is nearly complete- including curb ramps, curb extensions, and sidewalks. The paving is underway with most paving scheduled for completion the week of January 8. Two special cases will be paved at the end of the month- North and South Blanche Street and Mallory Way. The schedule is subject to delay due to weather.
