Free Recovery and Insurance Orientation Workshop to be held at County of Ventura Hall of Administration

A free “Roadmap to Recovery” recovery and insurance orientation workshop for victims of the Thomas Fire will be held at the Ventura County Government Center on Monday, January 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the County of Ventura Hall of Administration, Board of Supervisors’ Hearing Room, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.

Workshop Topic will be: Information and guidance on first steps on the road to recovery and navigating insurance claims.

There will be free parking for the event in Parking Lot G.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration in Libbey Park Monday, January 15, 2018

The 17th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration will be held in Libbey Park on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. It is organized by the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation.

City to Lift Temporary Leaf Blower Ban Effective Thursday at 8 a.m.

The City has announced that it will lift its temporary leaf blower ban on Thursday, January 11, 2018, effective 8 a.m. The leaf blower ban was initially put into effect on December 11, 2017, when the City announced that leaf blowers had been temporarily prohibited as a result of the Thomas Fire, due to poor air quality and the risk of spreading more ash, smoke and particulates into the air. Update on Storm Status

The City’s public works crews are clearing out and inspecting drains but the City has not had other issues reported from the rain. The current flash flood warning runs through 9:30 a.m.
