Tips for Safe Cleanup of Fire Ash and Debris

From the San Diego Chapter of California Landscape Contractors Association:

The local fires have resulted in large volumes of fire ash and debris. When mandatory evacuations are lifted, residents who return to their effected homes and neighborhood should use caution when they come in contact with these materials.

Community Meeting On Facebook Live

Tonight’s (12/9/17) Community Meeting at Nordhoff High School, at 7:30 p.m. will be streaming on the City of Ojai’s facebook page, via facebook live. In case of any network outage or technical issues, we will also record the video for later playback on the City’s youtube channel and Channel 10.

City of Ojai’s Thomas Fire Community Meeting Scheduled for Saturday at 7:30

City of Ojai’s Thomas Fire Community Meeting: The City of Ojai has scheduled a community meeting Saturday, December 8 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at the Nordhoff High School cafeteria. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Representatives from Calfire and other agencies will be on hand to speak and/or answer questions. Other agencies will include:

City of Ojai
Ventura County Sheriff’s Office
County Fire
County of Ventura Supervisor Steve Bennett’s Office
Other agencies

Red Cross Shelter Transition Effective Saturday (12/9/17) at 2:00 p.m.

Update: There is not a Red Cross meeting tomorrow (Saturday, December 8, 2017), but instead a Community Meeting will be held at Nordhoff High School cafeteria, 1401 Maricopa Highway at 7:30 p.m. Please see following post for more information. The shelter is scheduled to close and transition to other shelters no later than 2 p.m. tomorrow. Original post below:

Reminder: Water Boil Advisory

Keep checking readyventuracounty.org for information. Reminder re: water boil advisory: Casitas Municipal Water District has issued a boil water order for the Upper Ojai Valley, Casitas Springs Foster Park and parts of the City of Ventura due to loss of pressure and water supply from the fire related power outages. All tap water used for drinking and cooking should be boiled to a rolling boil for approximately 1 minute. This is the preferred method to ensure water is safe to drink.
