City of Ojai Announces Parade Chair Rules in Advance of July 4th Independence Day Events

(OJAI, Calif.) – Setting up chairs along the Independence Day parade route has a long history in Ojai. While the City awaits the State’s determination of whether Independence Day parades will be allowed to occur this year, the City has implemented the following precautions to help protect public health this year:

  • No chairs allowed on Ojai Avenue before Monday June 28, 2021 at 8 a.m.
  • No more than 10 chairs in a group and please leave space between groups of chairs.

The County of Ventura entered the least restrictive Yellow Tier in the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy at 12:01 am on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 after meeting the required metrics for the required two-week period. Today, the State has reported that Ventura County’s adjusted case rate remained in the yellow tier by further improving from 1.5 new cases per 100,000 people to 1.2 new cases per 100,000. The overall test positivity rate remained at .7% and in health equity areas the test positivity rate dropped from 1.4% to 1.1%.

Exciting New Changes to Your Trash Service, Starting July 5, 2021

Starting next month, you will no longer have to remember which cart to put out each week. On Monday, July 5, E.J. Harrison & Sons will begin weekly curbside collection of ALL THREE carts – for trash, recycling and yard waste – at no additional charge! No longer will you need to alternate the weekly collections of recycling and yard waste.

This service upgrade will provide more room for you to recycle and allow Harrison to divert more recyclables and organics from the landfill.
