The City of Ojai is mourning the loss of former Mayor and Councilmember Paul Blatz, who passed away after a battle with cancer on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the age of 69. Paul Blatz served as an Ojai City Councilmember from 2010 to 2018, and as Ojai Mayor in 2013 and 2016. Paul Blatz also served on the Ojai Planning Commission from 1998 to 2008. [Español abajo] The Ventura County Health Care Agency is offering free COVID-19 testing on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sarzotti Park, 510 Park Rd. Ojai CA. 93023. Testing is available to members of the public, including to those who have the slightest suspicion of having COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with it. Appointments are not required and you don’t need to have health insurance.

City of Ojai COVID-19 Update: March 26, 2021- Vaccine and Testing Update

Skate Park Lease Extended

Good News for the skaters in the Ojai Valley! The City of Ojai and the Ojai Unified School District executed a 20-year extension to the lease for the Ojai Skate Park.

 On March 10, OUSD passed and approved the extended lease agreement and at last night’s City Council meeting, the City Council also unanimously approved the extended agreement.

The new lease is valid until December 31, 2044 and future skaters will be able to enjoy the skate park for many years to come!
