The California Public Utilities Commission to Hold a Meeting on March 1, 2021 to Hear Updates from Southern California Edison on Public Safety Power Shutoffs

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), in its ongoing actions to reduce the impacts of utility Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS), will hold a public meeting for Southern California Edison (SCE) to provide an update on its Corrective Action Plan following a January public meeting the CPUC held to address the operational deficiencies identified in the utility’s execution of its 2020 PSPS events. The Small Business Administration (SBA) Provides Update on the Paycheck Protection Program

On Monday, February 22, 2021 the Biden-Harris Administration and the Small Business Administration (SBA) announced the following changes to the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to further promote equitable relief for America’s mom-and-pop businesses including those in Ojai:

  • From February 24 – March 10, 2021, the SBA will establish a 14-day Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan application period exclusively for businesses and nonprofits with fewer than 20 employees.

City of Ojai COVID-19 Update for Thursday, February 25, 2021: Vaccine and Testing Updates

The County of Ventura has recently announced that registration for vaccinations can now occur for essential workers in Phase 1b tier 1. This group includes essential workers in the following sectors: Food and Agriculture, Education and Childcare, Emergency Services. To learn more about the phases and tiers, please visit

Reminder: Free COVID-19 Testing Available on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Sarzotti Park

[Español abajo] The Ventura County Health Care Agency is offering free COVID-19 testing on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sarzotti Park, 510 Park Rd. Ojai CA. 93023. Testing is available to members of the public, including to those who have the slightest suspicion of having COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with it. Appointments are not required and you don’t need to have health insurance.
