April is Fair Housing Month

April is Fair Housing Month, and April 11, 2018, marks the 50th anniversary of passage of the Fair Housing Act, officially known as Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, signed into law by President Johnson.

As originally written, the Act outlawed housing discrimination based on race, color, national origin or religion in housing sales, rentals and brokerage services. It was later amended to also protect against discrimination based on sex.

Community Beautification Day at Nordhoff High School on Saturday 3/24/18

All residents of the City of Ojai are invited to participate in the Residential Community Beautification Day on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Nordhoff High School (1401 Maricopa Highway). This event is intended for residential (not business) waste. Materials accepted include most appliances, bulky items, green waste, and metal.
