Free COVID-19 Testing Available on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Nordhoff High School

The City of Ojai in partnership with the County of Ventura, the Ojai Unified School District (OUSD), and the Ojai Valley Community Hospital, are announcing a special one day COVID testing event. Testing is scheduled to take place at Nordhoff High School, 1401 Maricopa Highway Ojai, CA. 93023 on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
Testing is available to the public, including those who have the slightest suspicion of having COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with it.

Application Deadline for California’s Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program Extended to January 13, 2021.

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020 The State of California began accepting applications for its announced allocation of $500 million for COVID-19 Relief Grant for Small Businesses, with grants of up to $25,000 to be distributed to underserved micro and small businesses.

The State has successfully received thousands of completed applications and will extend the closing date to Wednesday, January 13 2021, to keep the portal open for those still in process and for new applicants to ensure fair and equitable opportunities for California’s small business community.

Recent Weather Forecasts Show Moderate to Strong Santa Ana Wind Conditions in Ventura County: Some Important Items to Consider

The National Weather Service is forecasting moderate to strong Santa Ana wind conditions over most of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Moderate northeast winds over mountains and wind-prone valleys may reach gusts of 30-45 mph.  Intensity is expected to increase Wednesday (12/2) through Friday (12/4), when gusts could reach up to 60+ mph and drive humidity levels to critically low levels.

Southern California Edison is monitoring various Ventura County electrical circuits for potential public safety power shutoffs.
