City of Ojai Announces Order Allowing Businesses to Use Outside Areas

On July 23, 2020, the City of Ojai announced an order allowing businesses to use outside areas. The order is intended to allow businesses that were impacted by the State’s order, which closed the indoor operations of many businesses within Ventura County, to reopen. Businesses can apply through the City for a temporary use permit and submit a plan to operate in an outdoor expansion area.

The City is waiving fees for these permits in an effort to help support local businesses that have been impacted by the closure orders.

Reminder: Face Coverings Requirement in Ojai

The City of Ojai and the State of California require face coverings at businesses or when physical distancing cannot be maintained, with few exceptions (see below for more information).  Residents may contact the City’s Code Compliance Division to report any businesses that are not complying (codecompliance@ojaicity.org or call (805) 646-5581 ext. 117). Businesses may refuse service and contact Code Compliance or call the non-emergency Police line at (805) 646-1414 if customers refuse to comply.
