Alma Quezada will officially step into the City of Ojai’s top Public Works job with her recent appointment as Public Works Director. Quezada has been working as interim director for the department since the recent retirement of Greg Grant, who led the Public Works for 10 years.

“Alma has demonstrated that she can get the job done as our small City tackles big projects to maintain and improve our community’s high standard of living.” says City Manager James Vega. “She understands the Ojai community and the value of communications throughout the public works process, and I am happy to officially promote her into this leadership role.”

With a master’s degree in civil engineering, Quezada’s background includes work with water systems and field geology. She was previously the general manager of Zone Mutual Water Company, a Ventura County agricultural water provider. Quezada has also worked for the County of Ventura as a groundwater hydrologist and in private industry as a field geologist, and is a registered geologist with the State of California.
