City Government
The residents of Ojai are served by a five-member, elected at large City Council. In order to secure greater input regarding issues of community interest and concern, the City Council has created the following bodies: Arts Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission and Building Appeals Board. As specific issues are identified, a commission may make a subcommittee to address said issues. The City Council and commissions strive to maintain a high quality of life for all Ojai residents through exceptional community-based programs, support of the arts and cultural activities, and strong community involvement.
In addition, the Council appoints members to Advisory Committees including:
- Area Housing Authority
- Countywide Planning Advisory Committee
- Area Agency on Aging
- Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC)
- Ventura County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) Advisory Committee
