The Ojai City Council has declared Thursday, May 27, 2021, as Emergency Preparedness Day in the City of Ojai. The City will partner with the Ojai Police Department, Ventura County Fire Department, and others to coordinate emergency preparedness activities and distribute emergency preparedness information, with the goal of preparing the community for potential emergency situations. The City will launch a new Emergency Preparedness webpage with useful information, prepare television, radio, and online messages, and schedule educational opportunities and demonstrations.

The City reminds residents to be prepared for emergencies as we enter a particularly dry fire season. It has been over 3 years since the Thomas Fire impacted our Valley, and it is important to plan for potential future emergencies, which could include fire, earthquakes, flooding, public safety power shutoffs, and others.

Stay tuned for opportunities to get involved, and please visit the City’s Emergency Preparedness page for more information:
