The City’s Cooling Center at Kent Hall (111 Santa Ana St.). We will open at Kent Hall again tomorrow from 11 am to 7 pm. Over the weekend, we are encouraging people to stop by the Library for an air-conditioned space. The City will re-open the Cooling Center at Kent Hall on Monday (Labor Day) at 11 a.m. The Library is closed on Labor Day.

In addition, the City if offering free Trolley rides (ojaitrolley.com for info and schedules) to and from the Library or the Kent Hall. The closest stop is the Bank of America on Ojai Avenue and Blanche Streets, which is about one block from both the Library and Kent Hall. Riders can tell the driver they are going to a cooling center for a free ride.

  • Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: Cooling Center is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Kent Hall
  • Saturday and Sunday: While not an official cooling center, the Library is open noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and they encourage people to stop by to beat the heat and enjoy a good book.
  • On Monday, Labor Day: The Library is closed and the City will re-open its cooling center at Kent Hall from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Temps are forecast to pass 100 degrees, so stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities and consider a cooling center if you cannot escape the heat.
