As part of the Ojai City Hall campus expansion, the City is now taking reservations for its updated public meeting space at Kent Hall, 111 W. Santa Ana St. in Ojai. Overlooking the Stewart Canyon area, the second-floor room is set up to host about 50 people and is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Equipped for community group meetings, the ADA accessible site includes tables, chairs and internet access. Fees are $50 for a three-hour period, with priority given to local non-profit groups and service organizations.

“Last year, the City resumed management of the two buildings adjacent to City Hall, Little House and Oak Tree House–and we got to work quickly,” explains City Manager James Vega.

The first step was to move the City’s Finance department to Oak Tree House, freeing much-needed office space at a crowded City Hall. Next door at Little House, the City gave Kent Hall a facelift, with the goal of reopening the room as a community resource.

“We simply don’t have a lot of affordable meeting spaces in town,” adds Vega. “A priority for us is to return some of our space back to public use to serve the local community. Kent Hall is ideal for that purpose.”

Both spaces will be open to the public on Wednesday, June 15, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., when the City hosts a Kent Hall/Finance Open House. Stop by for refreshments, view the meeting space, and learn about the history of the City Hall campus buildings.
