Youth Ride Free on Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD), Ventura County’s largest public transit agency serving the cities of Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Ventura, and the County areas in between the cities.

The Youth Ride Free program started on August 15, 2022 and will be extended countywide on September 1st. This is to meet the demand of school travel for parents, students, and schools who normally purchase passes during this back-to-school time of year.

The program covers free rides to youth 18 years old and under, or older youth currently enrolled in high school. ID’s will not be required in most cases, but older students should be prepared to show an ID to verify eligibility. GCTD provides YOUTH ID’s upon request for free.

College Students are required to show the driver or tap their school ID when boarding. Applies to College Students enrolled at California Lutheran University, CSUCI, Moorpark College, Oxnard College or Ventura College.
