Saturday February 3, 2018, Sheriff’s OES and the County of Ventura’s Public Works Agency is holding a public meeting to discuss the status of the Thomas Fire burn area analysis. More particularly, the meeting will present an overview of the increased risk of mudflow, landslide, and flooding in areas adjacent to and downstream of the burn areas.

Attendees will be advised to take the necessary steps to protect themselves and their property from the dangers associated with increased mudflow, potential slides, and the increased probability of flooding.

After that brief presentation, the intent is to introduce those attendees unfamiliar with erosion control, slope protection, and flood protection to subject matter experts whom can supply them products and/or services in an expo hall atmosphere. To accomplish this, we are inviting suppliers, along with licensed contractors and engineers to set-up at independent information tables.
The meeting will be held at the Poinsettia Pavilion in the city of Ventura from 9:00 – 12:00, the first hour being reserved for the burn area analysis presentation.
