In this era of ever-increasing natural disasters and on the heels of the Thomas Fire, Supervisor Steve Bennett in partnership with Ventura County Fire is pleased to announce a series of disaster preparedness classes for the Ojai Valley.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
The program will start on Wednesday April 11th from 6:30-9pm and will continue for 5 consecutive Wednesdays through May 16th. The classes will be held at the Oak View Park and Resource, 555 Mahoney St., Oak View 93022. All interested parties are encouraged to enroll by emailing with CERT in the subject line, with name, address and contact phone # or by contacting Supervisor Bennett’s office directly at 654-2703.

Thank you for your interest in making the Ojai Valley a safer place to call home!
